Easy Pool Trickshots: 3 Rail Kick
For a trickshot that looks great and is very easy to set up this 3 rail trickshot is the way to go. Whenever you can pocket more than one ball at a time with one shot, you’ll always impress. The main key to this is getting the last ball in when the cue ball goes 3 rails. It takes a fair amount of inside spin, which will vary from table to table. So the hardest part of this trickshot is figuring out how much spin to use in order to go 3 rails to your target.
Setup: Put an object ball on the spot and then place another object ball behind it, directly lined up with the pocket like your setting up a dead on combination shot. Even though the two ball in this diagram isn’t exactly lined up with the pocket, the ball will be thrown in when hit by the cue ball which makes it lined up right. Make sure the two balls are frozen together and put the cue ball on the headstring about a diamond off the rail. Finally set one more ball in the corner pocket on the opposite side of the cue ball.
To make this shot you want to hit the two ball in the diagram below with about a half ball hit with 2 tips of inside english and a hair of follow. This should bring the cue ball 3 rails around to make the three ball on the opposite side of the table. You might have to fiddle with how much english to use on this shot, but once you have that down, you should be able to make this shot consistently.
