Basic Billiards was started in 2016 to give beginner players a place where they can learn how to play pool via premade courses. Compared to the early days of pool up until the 2000s or so, general billiards knowledge was hard to come by. Nowadays there’s the opposite problem. There are so many resources that it’s hard to know where to start.
Basic Billiards’ goal is to make learning pool easier. I’ve tried to create a site that is easy to understand and easy to navigate to make the complexity of pool much easier.
While I’ve personally learned from a lot of sources: books, in person pool lessons, Dr. Dave, Accu Stats, AZ Billiards and Reddit forums, and from other players in general, something has always been missing. There isn’t a clear place that holds all educational pool content in one location, especially not in any organized fashion. Slowly but surely this site is going to become that place. It’s already made a lot of progress, but as time goes on it’s going to be even better.
I’m continually trying to improve upon the site, so if there is something that you think can be improved or if there is a question that isn’t answered, please let me know and I’ll do my best to make sure the site answers your question!
